Land Acknowledgement
Montana Center for Somatic Psychotherapy is near the Clark Fork River in Missoula Montana. Salish, Kootenai, Pend d’Oreille, Blackfeet, and Shoshone people are the traditional inhabitants of this land. The confluence of the Blackfoot and Clark Fork were traditionally a fishing place for large bull trout in these native communities. We pay or respects, and give our recognition for the gifts and losses that have come in the transitions of culture for Native People in Missoula in the last 200 years. We offer thanks for this land we live and work within and the people who have been stewards to this land for generations before. We hope to move forward in an effort of collaboration and recognition of the culture and history that has brought us to the time and place and opportunity to be here providing this healing work now.
