Trauma Informed Stabilization Therapy (TIST)

Trauma Informed Stabilization Therapy care can help you notice and work with your responses to life. It’s a form of treatment that understands you’re not broken and, in fact, helps you celebrate all the ways you have survived.

Tell Me About TIST

TIST  is really about developing a relationship to a safe enough present moment to allow yourself to settle and heal. A TIST  therapist knows that past experiences can shape how you think, react, and even how your body responds to stress, and they never blame you for that.

The process moves at your pace, with lots of transparency, choice, and collaboration. You’re never pushed to revisit something you’re not ready for. The focus is on helping you understand your nervous system, the parts of self that have developed in your life, and to be in mindful awareness in relationship to these parts of self to “unblend” from overwhelming memories of the past.

At its heart, TIST is about honoring your story and creating a space where you can feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood. With the Montana Center for Somatic Psychotherapy, you can finally have the space you need.
