McKenzie Pearson, BBH-PCLC-LIC-72309
“I prioritize creating a space of safety and comfort where clients can engage in work that may at times feel challenging or uncomfortable. In my work with young people I have experienced supporting clients who may initially feel hesitant about the therapy process, and have seen firsthand the transformative impact of building an empathetic, trusting relationship based in compassion and curiosity. I strive to meet people where they are in their journey and am honored to walk alongside them.”
McKenzie Pearson enjoys working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, and is particularly passionate about supporting young people and their families. McKenzie works with children ages 7 and older, adolescents, teens, and adults. She is also interested in working with couples looking to strengthen their relationships with one another and within their family systems. She can offer support in navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, identity development, communication challenges, school related concerns, and life transitions. She has particularly valued supporting individuals in rural areas and strives to provide care that is mindful of the close-knit and often complex dynamics present in these settings.
Grounded in a person-centered approach, McKenzie shows up to sessions ready to celebrate moments of joy, sit with clients through times of hardship, and support the development of insight that fosters meaningful change aligned with each client’s values. McKenzie incorporates play, art, and grounding practices into sessions. She is intentional in creating opportunities for creativity, alternative forms of expression, and movement within sessions.
McKenzie is committed to ongoing professional development and is pursuing ongoing training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, attachment-focused EMDR, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, to further support trauma-informed and relationship-centered care.
When not in the counseling chair, McKenzie is likely trying to get just lost enough outdoors. She enjoys hiking and camping, being on a river in the summer, and cozying up next to a fire in the winter.
